Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) through the CORE program

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that combines medication and counseling to help individuals reduce cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms, and build a foundation for long-term recovery from opioid addiction. At 海角社区, MAT is delivered with a whole-person approach鈥攁ddressing both the physical and emotional aspects of substance use in a supportive, confidential environment. Through our partnership with the Florida CORE Network, we鈥檙e able to offer MAT services in Walton County at no cost, increasing access to care and helping more individuals take the first step toward recovery.

Crisis care

The 海角社区 Mobile Response Team (MRT) serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. MRT provides 24/7 intervention and support and is available to respond within 60 minutes via telephone triage or in-person. We can come to you. In addition to helping individuals, we partner with local law enforcement, schools, emergency rooms and other providers. MRT also provides after-care to ensure a smooth transition to the appropriate support services.

Bringing care to you

海角社区’s Community Action Team (CAT) is designed to function as a 鈥渉ospital without walls,鈥 with frequent therapy (at least weekly), intensive case management and support services provided by mentors and a nurse. CAT serves the entire family system to include any siblings and parents, utilizing a wraparound model of care. The goal is to help the child/adolescent and family become successful in the environment where they live, preventing the need for residential treatment.

In Walton County, CAT serves youth ages 11 to 21.

JoAnn Birge Women and Children鈥檚 Center

Located in DeFuniak Springs near 海角社区 of Walton County, this center is a residential treatment program for women struggling with substance misuse. Our team helps women, primarily those who are pregnant or postpartum. Mother and child can remain together during this crucial time.

Psychosocial rehabilitation

海角社区 of Walton County also provides daily psychosocial rehabilitation. The goal is to restore the skills and abilities necessary for independent living by promoting:

  • Development and maintenance of daily living skills
  • Food planning and preparation
  • Money management
  • Maintaining a living environment
  • Appropriate use of community services

The program helps individuals who have a mental health diagnosis and require medically necessary behavioral health community support services, while exhibiting one of the following symptoms severe enough to cause significant impairment in daily functioning:

  • Psychiatric
  • Behavioral or cognitive
  • Addictive behavior
  • Clinical conditions
